From complex five-axis contouring to simple, repetitive drilling, every CNC operation demands absolute consistency. Workpieces must be positioned precisely every time. Fixtures and rotary tables must index with absolute precision. Any deviation, any slight offset, can lead directly to dimensional errors, scrapped parts, and costly downtime.
This is where purpose-built components come in, transforming potential uncertainty into rock-solid reliability.
The indexing plunger consists of a spring-loaded plunger body and a precision-machined steel pin. Turning the handle or pulling the lever compresses the spring, which retracts the pin back into the plunger, allowing movement. Releasing it allows the spring to return the pin to its original position, locking the position.
They feature internal spring loading. When a button on the handle is pressed, the spring forces the steel ball into the body. Releasing the handle releases the steel ball, locking it securely against the hole wall, allowing for quick pin removal. Quick, one-handed operation, often requiring no tools, significantly reduces assembly/disassembly time, a crucial feature in applications requiring frequent replacements.
Don't let unreliable positioning components hold you back from your CNC machining efforts. Indexing plungers and ball locking pins are more than just components; they're fundamental to precision, efficiency, and profitability. Contact us!
